Luxembourg is a tiny landlocked country in Western Europe surrounded by Belgium, Germany and France. The country has a constitutional monarchy which is ruled by the Grand Duchy. The democracy of the country is represented by the Parliament. It is the only sovereign Grand Duchy remaining in the world. Luxembourg is the capital of the country and German, French and Luxembourgish are the official languages.

Luxembourg is overshadowed by the culture of the neighboring countries though it has a rich history of its own. However, a number of folk traditions of the country have been retained. There are several museums in Luxembourg which are notable like the National Museum of History and Art. Luxembourg City itself has been acclaimed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Painter Joseph Kutter and photographer Edward Steichen are from Luxembourg, who have gained repute worldwide.

The economy of Luxembourg is stable with high income and low unemployment and low inflation. The industrial sector includes industries of steel, rubber, chemicals and other products. Majority of the economic output of the country is due to banks and financial exports. Small family owned farms are the accounted as the agriculture of Luxembourg. The country has close financial ties in trade with neighboring countries like Netherlands and Belgium. It has the highest GDP per capita in the world.
